For That Magic Shine

For this project, I was challenged to demonstrate the skills I have developed in conceptual thinking, design, layout, illustration, and Photoshop. The challenge I chose was “Fairy Tales Can Come True,” which entailed creating a realistic-looking image of a well-known fairytale. Using the Disney movie “Aladdin” as my inspiration, I decided to include a genie lamp and use the product “Bar Keeper’s Friend”as my product tie-in. The campaign concept was that a quality cleanser can leave objects clean with a “magic shine”.

Since this ad would appear in a magazine and online, I wanted to keep the layout clean, using only essential elements and strong readability to allow the core message to shine through. Keeping in mind the product-tie in’s colour’s, I kept the same gold and blue colour scheme, taking advantage of thegold of the genie lamp, and mystic blue background. Overall, the end design created, in addition to the variety of mock-ups help sell it asa professional, credible promo.
